Intelligence and Insight

Intelligence: an insight, emotional or intellectual.

It does not guarantee a more advantageous outcome, as it is by definition always limited (take the two frogs in a jug of milk for example).

If G-d has sense of humour, this would be the proof, although by human standards it does seem a bit cruel... May be this was the reason why G-d did not approve of Adam and Eve eating the fruits from the tree of wisdom: it brought suffering.

Intelligence guarantees suffering through insight, while giving only a chance of happiness.

Insights may be that magic which distinguishes humans from the other species and from each other, but it is the context of emotional reaction to those insights that are the real meaning. Many seek enlightenment by looking for insights, not realising that on their own they are meaningless. May by that is why so many religions and philosophies have an initiation process where they decide whether their disciples are emotionally "ready" for the enlightenment and knowledge.

I can see an endless thematic repository for literary and theatrical endeavours in these emotional responses to an insight, even if they come down to the basic good, bad and ugly
